2010
June 7th - A consolation bracket is now being added.
This will be a combined race of Super Stocks vs. Stock.  All racers who lose their first two races will be out of competitive racing but now will have a chance to race for the consolation trophy!

Race format change - What a blessing 61 racers is!  In light of the number of entrants, we did some quick calculations and discovered that the original double elimination, two races equals one heat, format would take us approximately 12 hours to conduct the race.  To ensure we get all the racing in, we need to change the format slightly.  We will still use a double elimination but one race will equal one heat.  As drivers come to the ramp, they will flip a coin to discover what lane they will compete in each race.  Because of the above, we are adding a consolation bracket to ensure our kids the maximum racing possible.  Each racer will go down the hill three times at a minimum!

June 6th- We had a blast at the inspection day on Saturday.  Thank you to all who showed up on time.  Have you seen a picture of the adult cars that we will feature on race day?

June 3rd - 61 racers total.  What a race we are going to have!  Inspection day is this Saturday, June 5th. All inspection times for each racer is posted here.

May 20th - We have 56 racers in our 2010 Soap Box Derby!  Letters to all racers will be sent or e-mailed soon.  Each racer has a designated time for inspection on June 5th; that time will be included in the letter.

May 11th - Tomorrow is the registration deadline.  Check out who has registered so far by clicking here!

May 4th - Check out the latest update to the rules.

May 1st - Last Car building clinic today at the Bump Shop.  Last day to register is May 12th...

Corporate Cup Challenge - We are excited to announce the beginning of what we think will be a hilarious aspect for our youth participants, spectators and adult racers - the Corporate Cup Challenge.  Now select adults will be able to challenge each other in the thrill of our down hill race in specially designed adult derby cars!  You can get more information here.

March 1st - By far, the biggest news of the year for the Quincy Soap Box Derby is our parting from the All American Soap Box Derby.  The change will in no way be detrimental to our local race - in fact, we expect the 2010 event to be the best year yet!  We wanted to tailor the event to our local racers' needs and wants.  As such, rule changes have been made.  In addition, rather than spending a weekend in Akron, OH, our top winners will enjoy a fun-filled weekend in St.Louis, Missouri - attending a Cardinal baseball game, Six Flags, the zoo and more!
