Rules

We adhere to the rules set forth by the car manufacturer with a few important exceptions as listed below:

Does your car have the updated steering kit? The updated steering kit utilizes two white PVC material rings on the steering cables.

Quincy Specific Rules for 2011

Updated 3/21/11

  • You may use as many washers as you want on each wheel.
  • Weight maximums will be enforced (200lbs. Stock; 230lbs. Super Stock), however, there will be no weight minimum. 
  • No more 15lb. differential.  You can have as much difference in the weight from the front to the back or vice versa.  All weight must be secured by the supplied bolt in the front or back of the car.
  • You must wear the helmet supplied by the car manufacturer.
  • Participants ages 8 - 17 can race in either Stock or Super Stock.  (There is no longer a requirement of age specific car type)
  • Wheel Lubricant - You can apply a lubricant to the wheels prior to inspection day. You CAN NOT make any adjustments to the car on race day. This means you CAN NOT add additional lubricant on race day.
  • Airfoils used can be either wood or plastic as supplied by the car manufacturer
  • Single Elimination
  • No wheel swap - (Your wheels will stay on your car the entire time)
  • A crash is an automatic loss of the individual race.
  • Past winners can compete again in the same division
  • The driver must fit in the age and weight requirements, and be able to fit in the car and operate it effectively.
  • Cars must use the updated steering kits (2 pvc rings) introduced in 2009.
  • The winner amongst one race in a heat advances to the next round

In the event of a tie for a race, the race will be re-run.   One race makes up one heat.

  • Everyone must conduct themselves in a fashion that:  1.encourages a positive development of our youth racers, spectators and volunteers, 2. ensures excellent sportsmanship 3. promotes the optimist creed.
